President Pranab Mukherjee Friday allotted Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki additional charge of Punjab and of Chandigarh administrator and Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh additional charge of Himachal Pradesh, a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said.
Solanki gets the additional responsibility as incumbent Shivraj V. Patil completes his tenure Jan 21.
In Himachal, Urmila Singh's gubernatorial tenure ends Jan 24.
