President Pranab Mukherjee will attend the convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) on Wednesday in the city.
"The President, who is also the Visitor of the 109-year-old premier institute, will deliver the convocation address and interact with its students and faculty on the occasion," said a statement here on Tuesday.
Mukherjee will also honour 677 students, including post-doctoral research scholars, post-graduates and graduates passing out from the institute with awards and medals.
The ceremony will be held at the J.N. Tata Auditorium in the sprawling green campus of the science institute in the city's northwest suburb.
Karnataka Governor Vajubhai R. Vala and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will participate in the ceremony in the presence of other dignitaries and select invitees.
"Vehicular movement and traffic on the route from the old HAL airport in the city's eastern suburb to the institute will be regulated and restricted to make way for the President's convoy," police said in a statement.
