President Pranab Mukherjee will host a two-day conference of directors of the National Institutes of Technology (NIT), beginning Thursday.
This is the first time that a conference of directors of NITs is being convened by the president. A total of 30 NIT directors will participate.
The conference, to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, would also be attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, an official release said here Wednesday.
The agenda of the conference includes steps required to improve the quality of technical education and faculty development in NITs, and to bring them at par with top technical institutions in the world.
