President Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the 10th World Zoroastrian Congress (WZC) here Friday when he arrives on a two-day visit to Maharashtra, it was announced here Thursday.
Scheduled to be held at the NSCI Grounds, Worli, the theme of this year's WZC is "Zoroastrianism in the 21st Century: Nurturing Growth and Affirming Identity".
Organised by the Bombay Parsi Panchayat, it is held once every four years in different countries worldwide, a WZC spokesperson said.
Earlier, the president will inaugurate CHEMCON 2013, the 66th Annual Session of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers which is organised jointly by the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) and IICHE at ICT, Matunga, an official spokesperson said.
On Saturday morning, Mukherjee will go to Thane to unveil a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji in a public place in Kalwe suburb.

In the afternoon, he will travel to Pune to inaugurate the golden jubilee celebrations of the Tribal Research and Training Institute here and later unveil a statue of Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj at the All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society.
The president will return to Hyderabad, where he is staying at the Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad till Dec 31 on his customary winter sojourn, the same evening.
