Giving a twist to the kidnap case of a popular Kerala actress, Congress legislator P.T. Thomas on Wednesday said he had asked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to probe the past of the prime accused Pulsar Sunil.

Thomas on Wednesday said he has received strong lead of Sunil possessing a duplicate passport and that he is alleged to have played a role in illegal trafficking of people from Kochi airport to the Middle East.

"I have asked in my letter to Vijayan that he should order a detailed probe into past deeds of Sunil. In reply to my speech in the assembly on this issue on Monday, he (Vijayan) said that when the Congress ruled the state, a kidnap of an actress took place, but no action was taken. I want him to probe that incident too and also about the close associates of Sunil," Thomas said while addressing media persons in the Kerala Legislative assembly premises here.

"I will wait for a while and if there is no progress to my demands, I will be forced to reveal more," he added.

All the six accused in the case who had a direct involvement have been arrested, but police probe team have not been able to recover the mobile phone with which Sunil has taken pictures of the actress during the two-hour drive on February 17 in Kochi.

The police, who have the custody of all the six until Friday, have been able to get evidence of a few places where Sunil had visited after the crime, but the phone could prove to be the crucial evidence.
