Some protesters were injured when security forces on Sunday fired at demonstrating mobs at three places in central Budgam district of the Kashmir Valley.
The protesters damaged EVMs and prevented voters from exercising franchise in Srinagar-Budgam parliamentary seat bypoll.
Mobs torched a bus and damaged EVMs at some polling stations in Badgam, police said.
"Security forces fired at anti-poll mobs resulting in injuries to some protesters," a police official said here.
Voting in the bypoll was low during the first three hours after polling started at 7 a.m.
Till 10 a.m., 4,403 votes were polled in Ganderbal district, 4,283 were polled in Srinagar district while 7,177 were polled in Budgam district.
At least 2,61,397 voters are eligible to cast vote in the Srinagar/Budgam seat where 1,559 polling stations have been set up.
