French football club Paris Saint-Germain's player Serge Aurier has been arrested following an altercation with a policeman in central Paris, according to France Info radio station on Monday.

Aurier was leaving a nightclub in the French capital early on Monday when the incident took place, reports Efe.

The policeman filed a complaint of violence against Aurier, who was with a group of friends in a luxurious car parked in the middle of a street near the Champs-Elysees, when the police patrol approached them.

According to the policeman's testimony, the Ivorian 23-year-old refused to leave the vehicle and said: "You don't know who I am. You'll regret it," before punching and pushing the officer.

Finally, the defender was taken into custody.

In February, Aurier was sanctioned by his club after making a video in which he insulted several of his colleagues and the coach, Laurent Blanc.
