The public was always convinced that there was a massive scam in land deals in Haryana, the BJP said on Thursday after a CAG report blamed the former Congress government of extending undue favours to Robert Vadra.
Vadra, son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, through his company Skylight Hospitality, allegedly bought land for cheap in the state and sold it at a higher price after getting the land use norms changed.
"The public was always convinced there was a massive scam in Haryana," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson G.V.L. Narasimha Rao said on Thursday.
"It just confirms the allegations that were being made... Vadra's company was extended undue favours and he made massive gains by misusing the authorities," Rao told IANS.
"The Congress government had bent all rules allowing them to make windfall gains".
The BJP spokesperson added that the report has been tabled in Haryana assembly and the state government will take action.
"Action will be taken by the state government, the report has already been tabled," he said.
