I-League football side Pune FC have agreed to sign defender Munmun Timothy Lugun on an 18-month contract up to 2015-16, the club said in a statement Sunday.

The 21-year-old defender joins Pune after playing for Delhi Dynamos in the recently-held Indian Super League (ISL).

"We have been tracking Munmun's progress for the last couple of years and I am glad we have finally signed him. I would like to wish him the best of luck for the season ahead," Chirag Tanna, Pune FC, head of operations, said.

Coach Karim Bencherifa said he was impressed by the Ranchi-born defender's energy and agility.

"I was following Munmun closely for last few seasons; he is young and energetic side back. I hope that he will be a valuable addition for the Pune FC squad this season," Bencherifa said.

Munmun said: "I am very happy to have signed for Pune FC. I will play with my heart for the club and will give my best every time I step on to the field."
