Many places in Punjab and Haryana continued to sizzle Sunday, with temperatures over 45 degrees Celsius in many towns, officials said.
Haryana's Hisar town recorded the season's high of 46.6 degrees Celsius as heat wave conditions intensified over most parts of the two states, Met officials said here.
Ambala city recorded a high of 45.2 degrees Celsius.
In neighbouring Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded highs of 46.3 and 46.1 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The Sikh holy city of Amritsar had a high of 45.8 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 45 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal.

Met officials here said the weather will remain dry, sunny and hot in the coming days with the heat wave intensifying.
The officials ruled out any relief from the heat wave in the next 2-3 days.
