Purab Kohli learns Arabic during 'Airlift' shoot

Actor Purab Kohli, who will next be seen in Akshay Kumar starrer "Airlift", says while he was shooting for the film in UAE, he took a few lessons in Arabic as he is attracted to the culture.

"While shooting for 'Airlift' in UAE, I took a few lessons in Arabic as well. I have always been attracted to the culture and was always keen on learning Arabic," Purab said in a statement.

The "Rock On!!" actor said that he speaks two language -- Hindi and English, but has been taking Urdu classes for some months.

"I speak two languages Hindi and English. Urdu has got an Arabic influence. I've been taking Urdu classes for the past couple of months. I have a wonderful teacher who is trying to inculcate the love for the written language, in me. He's making sure I can read and write the language and I'm really seeing the beauty in Urdu not only in its sound but also in its script," he said.

 

The film, which is shot in Ras al-Khaimah, UAE, will see Purab, who will be sporting a rugged look, essaying the role of Ibrahim Durani, a small town man from India who works in the Middle East.

"Airlift" is inspired by the evacuation of Indians who were based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war also stars actress Nimrit Kaur in a key role and is slated to release on January 22 next year.
