Train services between Puri and Howrah, badly affected due to the cyclonic storm Phailin that pounded Odisha coast Saturday, will resume Sunday evening onwards, an official release said.
"Since the railway line to Puri from Howrah has been declared fit by East Coast Railway after proper inspection, trains running to Puri will resume from evening of Oct 13," a press statement by the South Eastern Railways said.
Several key trains, including the Puri Shatabdi Express from Howrah, were cancelled Saturday.
The Howrah-Puri Sri Jagannath Express, and the Howrah-Puri Express will run on normal route, but the Howrah-Puri Dhauli Express scheduled to leave Howrah Sunday evening has been cancelled.
The Howrah-Yesvantpur Express, scheduled to leave Howrah at 20.35 Sunday, been rescheduled to leave Howrah 6.00 Monday.
The Howrah-Tiruchchirapalli Express, scheduled to leave Howrah at 16.10 Sunday, has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 16.10 Monday.
The Howrah-Hatia Express scheduled to leave Howrah at 22.15 Sunday, has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 00.30 Monday.
