An undersea quake measuring 6.0 on the Richter magnitude scale jolted Indonesia's Maluku Islands, media reported Sunday.

The quake rocked the islands at 05.05 a.m. Jakarta time. The epicenter was located 165 km north-west of Maluku province at a depth of 133 km under the seabed, Xinhua reported citing the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency.

The agency has ruled out the possibility of a tsunami.

Indonesia is prone to quake as it lies on a vulnerable quake zone, the so called "Pacific Ring of Fire". Mid of last month a powerful quake struck the area and triggered a small tsunami.
