A low intensity earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale shook India's northeastern states Sunday night, officials said.
The quake occurred around 10.35 p.m. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property.
According to the Regional Seismological Centre here, the epicentre was in Arunachal Pradesh's West Kameng district. The tremor was also felt in Meghalaya, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland.
The northeast is considered the sixth major earthquake-prone belt in the world.
