The Queen's Cup golf tournament will return for its seventh edition on the Asian Tour at the Santiburi Samui Country Club here from June 18 to 21, the organisers announced on Wednesday.
Bangkok Airways, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Thailand, Thailand PGA and the Asian Tour, jointly announced details of the upcoming event at a press launch here where Thai star Thaworn Wiratchant will defend his crown.
The Queen's Cup will include many famous Thai golfers and is also expected to attract the likes of Bangladeshi star Sididur Rahman and Singapore's Mardan Mamat.

"Our players always enjoy competing in the Queen's Cup as it is played on a truly challenging golf course while Samui also offers the opportunity for them to enjoy the many attractions on the famous holiday isle," Asian Tour CEO Mike Kerr said in a release.
The tournament's traditional curtain-raiser Pro-Am will be held on June 17.
Since making its debut on the Asian Tour in 2009, the Queen's Cup has been dominated by Thai golfers, with the likes of Chinnarat Phadungsil, Chawalit Plaphol, Prayad Marksaeng and Thaworn Wiratchant (twice) winning the event. The only international golfer who triumphed in Samui was Japan's Tetsuji Hiratsuka.
