With Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi all set to address Delhi residents Sunday, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said that she was confident that the rally would be a success.

"We are expecting a huge crowd. There will be thousands and thousands of people and it is possible that the figure reaches lakhs also," she said.

"We are confident that it (rally) will be a success," she added.

According to Dikshit, necessary arrangements are in place anticipating the huge turnout at the Ramlila Maidan in west Delhi's Mongolpuri.

This would be the Gandhi scion's first rally in the capital ahead of the Dec 4 assembly elections.

Meanwhile, Delhi Public Works Department Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan said that the rally would be "simple as per party orders".

"We don't believe in wasting crores of rupees on rallies just to show off," said Chauhan taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) glitzy rally in Delhi's Japanese Park Sep 29.

The BJP had organized a high-fi rally with huge stages, giant plasma screens, modern sound system and so on.
