Several areas of the national capital witnessed light to normal rainfall on Tuesday evening, the Met office said. The showers also resulted in traffic jams in various parts of the city.
"Several pockets of the city witnessed light to normal rain in the evening. The sky will remain cloudy tomorrow (Wednesday) and some parts of the city are likely to get showers," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Traffic snarls were reported from south Delhi.
"Heavy traffic was witnessed on Barapullah elevated road, Moolchand hospital towards Maharani Bagh, and Masoodpur Market after Vasant Kunj flyover," a Delhi Traffic Police official told IANS.
Traffic moved at snail's pace on Mathura Road from Apollo hospital to Ashram and also on Delhi-Noida-Direct flyway, the official said.
The maximum temperature of the day settled three notches above the season's average at 36.8 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 36 and 26 degrees on Wednesday.
Tuesday morning was sunny and the minimum temperature settled at 26 degrees Celsius.
The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 85 percent.
On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 26 degrees Celsius, average for the season.
