It was a wet Independence Day morning in the capital Thursday and the minimum temperature settled two notches below average at 24.8 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast more rain during the day.
"The skies will remain cloudy and parts of the city will get more rain," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.
Overnight rain in the city led to a pleasant Thursday morning with overcast skies and a cool wind.
The city received 8.6 mm of rain since 8.30 a.m. Wednesday.
Since the monsoon's arrival in June, Delhi has got 515.6 mm of rain, 29 percent more than the average.
Wednesday's maximum temperature was recorded a notch above the season's average at 34.9 degree Celsius and the minimum was 26.1 degree Celsius, average for this time of the year.
