Bhawani Singh Rajawat, a BJP legislator from Rajasthan known for his controversial remarks, has run into trouble with a video showing him talking against his party on the issue of demonetisation.

Rajawat, who represents Ladpura assembly constituency in Kota district, says in the video whose authenticity IANS cannot verify, "Adani and Ambani atram shatram in sabko pehle pata tha. (Adani-Ambani and some others like them had prior knowledge about demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000)."

In the 54-second video, which has now gone viral, he says that the quality of the new notes "is third class".

"Naye note ki quality third class hai, lete hai lagta hai nakli hai. (The quality of the new notes is bad. They look fake)," he says.

However, Rajawat completely denies saying anything and told IANS that he has not given any such statement.

"Video main kaant-chhant ki gayi hai. (The video has been tampered with). This has been done under a conspiracy," Rajawat said.

"What I said has not been shown completely," he added.
