Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to make a statement on Thursday in Parliament on the killing of a suspected IS terrorist in a Lucknow gunfight and train blast in Madhya Pradesh, a ministry official said.
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Police said the youth killed in the anti-terror operation in Uttar Pradesh's capital as well as five arrested accomplices were "self- radicalised" and were trying to build an Islamic State Khorasan module in the UP city.
The police statement came hours after its Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) killed Saifullah, a resident of Manohar Nagar in Kanpur, in an 11-hour-long gunfight in Thakurganj's Haji colony in Lucknow.
On Tuesday, a blast occurred in the general compartment of the 59320 Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train near Jabdi station in Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur district, injuring 10 persons.
