Members of an NGO on Tuesday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday and urged him to form separate cells for noise pollution control, terming in a law and order issue.
The NGO, Satya Foundation said the Home Minister gave a "positive response" to proposition, and said he would take up the issue with the Environment Ministry.
"We told the Home Minister that noise pollution is a law and order issue.
"The Home Minister appreciated the idea and promised to take this issue further, after talking to the Ministry of Environment," said Chetan Upadhyay of the NGO.
