Samajwadi Party (SP) National General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav here on Wednesday inaugurated a number of projects of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) worth Rs 1,260 crore.

The SP leader inaugurated 25 under-construction projects and laid foundation stones of 14 new projects.

The new projects include various infrastructure and housing projects like linking of National Highway-24 to National Highway-58, Artisan Mart in Madhuban Bapudham, Samajwadi Housing Scheme in Koyal Enclave and Madhuban Bapudham and flyovers on NH-58.

The SP leader also inaugurated 12 projects of Hapur-Pilkhuwa Development Authority (HPDA).

The SP leader, who termed Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as the future of the country, said that only 6 to 7 per cent citizens have access to internet which makes it impossible to adopt digital methods of payments in a single go in the manner that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants it to happen.

He further claimed while Rs 50,000 crore were invested in printing new notes, 60 to 70 per cent labourers have been retrenched from various factories following demonetisation of old currency notes.
