Minister of State for Rural Development Ram Kripal Yadav has been admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital here after being diagnosed with chikungunya and dengue, a close aide of the minister said on Friday.
However, the authorities at the hospital said that the diagnosis was still on and the doctors were yet to confirm if the minister is suffering from dengue.
Yadav's close aide told IANS that he was ill for the last 20 days. He was admitted to the hospital on August 9, where the doctors first thought that it was thyroid problem. But after complete check up, dengue and chikungunya were found positive four days ago.
"Sir (Yadav) was admitted on August 9th itself. However, he has been confirmed of chikungunya and dengue four days back. He is undergoing treatment at RML," Randheer, a close aide of the minister, told IANS.
When contacted, the spokesperson of RML Hospital told IANS that the minister is still undergoing medical tests and dengue has not been confirmed yet.
