Jammu and Kashmir upset domestic cricket giants Mumbai with a historic four-wicket win by chasing down 237 runs on the last day of the match here at the Wankhede Stadium Wednesday.

It was J&K's first win over the 40-time champions in the tournament's 79-year history.

Opener Shubham Khajuria led the innings again, with a composed 78, and the win was secured by an unbeaten 41 from Hardeep Singh. Captain Parvez Rasool also contributed with a valuable 32.

J&K resumed on 58 for one and lost Bandeep Singh in the fourth over of the day.

But the visitors were steadied by Rasool and Hardeep and sealed the victory despite losing four more wickets.

Khajuria was named Man of the Match for his 50 in the second innings and 107 in the first.

In Bangalore, defending champions Karnataka launched their campaign in style with a 285-run victory against Tamil Nadu on the fourth and concluding day.

Chasing a victory target of 368, Tamil Nadu collapsed to 82 all out in just 34.3 overs with Karnataka seamers Arvind Sreenath (4 for 9) and skipper Vinay Kumar (3 for 20) doing the bulk of the damage.

Overnight 247 for seven, Karnataka added 104 more runs in quick time on the fourth morning with Manish Pandey (56, 89b, 6x4, 1x6) and Stuart Binny (77, 68b, 6x4, 4x6) putting on 118 for the fifth wicket as the hosts declared their second innings at 351 for 5.

Pandey and Binny heaped further misery on the listless Tamil Nadu bowling which had little to offer by way of any threat and Karnataka, who had taken a 16-run first innings lead, all but sewed up the game.

The Tamil Nadu chase was a non-starter from the outset as wickets tumbled in a heap with left-arm paceman Arvind, who finished with match figures of 8 for 61, and Vinay Kumar ripping through the line-up. Opener Abhinav Mukund was the top-scorer with 16, but his exit in the 10th over, triggered the collapse.
