Residents and staff members of Rashtrapati Bhavan took an oath to keep their homes, offices and surroundings clean as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday.

"Large number of residents and staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President's Bodyguard, the Army Guard and the Delhi Police took part in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan," a statement said adding that the participants were administered a 'cleanliness oath' and exhorted to dedicate two hours every week to clean their residences, neighbourhoods and common facilities.

A run for 'Swachh Bharat' will be flagged off by the president Saturday morning and among the participants will be defence and para-military personnel working or living in president's estate.
