Rathore condemns murders of journalists in Bihar and Jharkhand

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore on Saturday condoled the deaths of two journalists Rajdeo Ranjan, the bureau chief of a Hindi newspaper in Siwan district of Bihar and Akhilesh Pratap Singh, a television journalist in Chatra district of Jharkhand.

"My condolences to families of journalists, Rajdeo Ranjan & Akhilesh Pratap Singh. Such loss of life is unacceptable. Calls for strict action," Rathore tweeted.

Rajdeo Ranjan, the Siwan bureau chief of the Hindi newspaper Hindustan, which is part of the HT Media group, was shot dead in a busy market near Station Road on Friday night.

Akhilesh Pratap Singh, a correspondent for a local television channel in Jharkhand's Chatra district, was shot dead on Thursday night.
