Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane will be sidelined for three weeks after suffering "a muscle injury in his right thigh".
The French international footballer's recovery will continue to be assessed after tests were carried out on Friday at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, reports Efe.
Varane joins the list of injured defenders, including Sergio Ramos and Marcelo Vieira.
Real coach Rafael Benitez will have to depend on defenders Carvajal, Pepe, Nacho and Danilo Luiz da Silva during Sunday's La Liga match against Eibar.
