A television series adaption of the classic, "Red Star Over China", written by American journalist Edgar Snow, will be screened in China on Saturday.
It is one of the most influential books written in 1937 with a Western understanding and sympathy for the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the 1930s, Xinhua news gency reported on Wednesday.
The 30-episode television series will be faithful to the book, extensively depicting military and political developments in China.
Snow, the first Western journalist to meet Chairman Mao and other CPC leaders, recorded the first authorised account of Mao's life as well as the history of the Long March during the Chinese revolution.
