Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday said Kashmiri Pandits should be rehabilitated in the Valley with "safety and dignity".
"The most hurtful bit is that people are saying no one (Kashmiri Pandits) wants to go back. No one wants to live as a refugee," said Jitendra Singh, minister of state in prime minister's office. He belongs to Jammu and Kashmir.
He spoke as a controversy erupted against a proposal to resettle Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley in separate townships.
"What has to be kept in mind is that Kashmiri Pandits should be rehabilitated with safety and dignity," said the minister.
"These issues should be sorted out after discussing with all stakeholders. We don't need another controversy," he added.
