Reja blasts Lazio's timid approach

Lazio head coach Edy Reja criticised his side's timid approach as they lost 1-3 at Catania.

This was Lazio's first loss since Reya replaced Vladimir Petkovic at team boss over Christmas. Reya suggested that his players took the wrong approach Sunday, reports Xinhua.

"We didn't underestimate this test as we knew they would be aggressive but we were too timid in our approach. Catania deserved the win as we got our approach completely wrong. In the first half I was fairly satisfied as Stefano Mauri made his first start and gave us a sense of balance. But the second half was not a good performance," he said.

"I hope everyone in this squad can give something more. It wasn't the performance I was expecting."
