Relief in some areas but heat wave on in some parts of Haryana, Punjab

While some areas of Haryana and Punjab got relief in maximum temperatures on Wednesday, heat wave conditions continued in some parts of both states.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 39 degrees Celsius, lower than the 42.5 degrees recorded on Tuesday.

Ambala (37.6 degrees), Karnal (36.8), Ludhiana (39.7) and Patiala (38.7) also saw drop in temperature on Wednesday compared to the last few days.

The temperatures at these places hovered between 42 to 45 degrees on Tuesday.

Hisar town in Haryana was the hottest at 45.3 degrees followed by Bhiwani at 43.4 degrees Celsius.

Amritsar city in neighbouring Punjab recorded 41.3 degrees.

 

Met department officials said heat wave conditions would prevail over the region in the coming days.
