Relief work has picked up in the past two days in flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir and rescue work will not stop till every trapped person is evacuated, the army commander in the state said Monday.
A statement issued by the defence ministry in New Delhi said nearly 20,000 people marooned by floods have been evacuated so far.
The navy and air force are also engaged in relief and rescue operations.
