Welcoming his expulsion from the CPI-M, veteran party leader and long-time West Bengal legislator Abdur Rezzak Mollah Wednesday said he was waiting for it.

"It's most welcome, I have been waiting for it," Mollah told IANS.

The decision to expel Mollah for "serious anti-party activities" was taken at a meeting of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) West Bengal unit Wednesday.

"It has been decided to expel Comrade Rezzak Mollah from the party for serious anti-party activity and for belittling the party's image in public," the party said in a statement.

Mollah, an undefeated MLA since 1972, launched Feb 23 the "Social Justice Forum" - a pro-Dalit and minority outfit which he claimed will contest the 2016 West Bengal assembly polls.

Asserting that he cannot be a part of two outfits simultaneously, Mullah had hinted of quitting the party.
