Hundreds of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) members Thursday staged a sit-in protest here over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's failure to bring back black money stashed abroad.

"It is a beginning of the RJD's move to expose failure of Modi to bring back black money and his government's discrimination against poor and backward state like Bihar," RJD state president Ram Chandra Purve told the media.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad did not attend the sit-in as he is Delhi for medical treatment.

Senior RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui said: "We will not sit silent and watch failures of the Modi government. The RJD along with like minded parties will go to the people to mobilise their support."

Former union minister and senior RJD leader Jai Prakash Yadav said Modi has failed to bring back black money within 100 days of taking power as promised.

"Modi had promised to bring back black money after being voted to power. But where is black money after six months?" Yadav said.

He said the poor people were angry as Modi failed to provide Rs.15 lakh for every household as promised during the Lok Sabha polls campaign.
