English semi-professional football club Basingstoke Town has launched a bold bid to sign two-time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho.
The Hampshire-based club said Thursday it had held talks with the Brazilian's brother and agent Roberto Assis, reports Xinhua.
"We've put in an offer and look forward hearing back from him," Basingstoke marketing director Simon Hood was quoted saying by the BBC.
Basingstoke Town play in the Conference South, the sixth-highest tier of English football.
Ronaldinho has been a free agent since leaving Brazil's Atletico Mineiro by mutual consent in July.
