Germany's Nico Rosberg will start in pole position for Sunday's Mexican Grand Prix after beating out Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who has already wrapped up the 2015 F1 drivers' title.

Rosberg posted a best-lap time of 1:19.480 in Saturday's Q3 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez here, just under two-tenths of a second faster than Hamilton, who has not secured pole position since the Italian Grand Prix early last month, reports Efe.

Rosberg also started first on the grid the past three races, although Hamilton won each time.

German Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel will start on the second row alongside Russian Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat.

Kvyat's teammate, Australia's Daniel Ricciardo, and Finnish Williams driver Valtteri Bottas will start fifth and sixth, respectively.

Williams' Felipe Massa secured the seventh spot. Toro Rosso's Max Verstappen was eighth. Force India 's Sergio Perez and team-mate Nico Hulkenberg bagged the ninth and 10th positions, respectively.

The Mexican Grand Prix is the 17th of 19 races on this year's F1 calendar.
