Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff will officially open the Arena das Dunas World Cup stadium Jan 22, a local media reported.

The venue in the city of Natal is the first to be ready among Brazil's World Cup stadiums not used during last June's Confederations Cup, Xinhua reported Saturday, citing Agencia Brasil report.

It will stage four group phase matches during football's showpiece tournament, including the Group D clash between Italy and Uruguay June 24.

Other stadiums yet to be completed are Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Arena da Amazonia in Manaus, Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre and the Itaquerao in Sao Paulo.

The World Cup will be played in 12 Brazilian cities from June 12 to July 13 this year.
