The government has awarded contracts worth over Rs 1.09 lakh crore for two- and four-laning of national highways in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Jharkhand since 2014-15, Parliament was told on Monday.
The contracts are for 297 projects amounting to Rs 1,09,043 crore, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Mansukh Lal Mandaviya told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
He added that altogether, the projects would spread across a total length of 13,433 kilometres of national highways in the six states.
