The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has gained by Rs.11.24 crore in the interim budget proposal for 2014-15, presented by finance minister P. Chidambaram in the Lok Sabha here Monday.
The ministry gets a total of Rs.1,219 crore as against the revised 2013-14 figure of Rs.1,207.76 crore.
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) is a major beneficiary getting Rs.325.10 as against last fiscal year's Rs.320.45.
The various National Sports Federations (NSFs) get a total hike of Rs.5 crore having been earmarked Rs.165 crore.
