The government on Monday said it had approved the upgradation and reconstruction of a 33-km stretch of National Highway-4 in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at a cost of Rs 193 crore.
The 33.405-km stretch between Nimbutala and Austin Creek will be upgraded to two lanes under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction mode, the Road Transport and Highways Ministry said.
The project involves reconstruction of an existing bridge, widening of two bridges, and repair/strengthening of six bridges.
