The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has approved a Rs.2,163 crore budget for the 2015-15 financial year, said Santosh Kumar Yadav, vice-chairman of the urban development body, on Monday.

The GDA board approved 30 of the 33 proposals before it and deferred three proposals for consideration in its next meeting.

The GDA expects to mop up revenue from development charges, sale of its properties, surcharge on stamp duties, interests, sale of forms, maintenance and registration.

The major projects on which the GDA expects heavy expenditures include the Metro project, Hindon elevated road to Raj Nagar extension, power stations in upcoming Raj Nagar Extension area, flyover at CGO complex, link road connecting G.T. Road with NH-24, expenditure on land acquisition and construction of northern peripheral road.

To encourage sale of its properties, the GDA has frozen any enhancement in its sector rates for six months.
