Madhya Pradesh Police on Friday said it seized Rs 80 lakh, including in demonetised notes, from two Hawala perators here as it was being taken to Mumbai.
Acting on a tip-off, police caught the two with a bag full of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, Inspector Sudesh Tiwari told IANS.
He said Dayanand and Harish revealed that the money belonged to some businesspersons in Bhopal and they were taking it to Mumbai on a commission of five to eight per cent.
Tiwari said the Income Tax Department has been informed about the seizure.
