Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Saturday submitted a private members' bill to the Upper House to get Pakistan declared a terrorist nation.

"I hereby give notice of my intention to move for leave to introduce the enclosed private members' bill 'Declaration of States as Sponsor of Terrorism Bill, 2016' in the Rajya Sabha during the Winter Session of Parliament," he said in a letter to Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari.

If a private member bill is passed in one of the houses, it has to go to the other house for approval, and then for President's assent. This procedure is followed for the bills brought by the government.
