The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) remembered its late founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar on his 75th death anniversary here on Sunday.
"Doctorji's (Hedgewar's) life was dedicated to putting his thoughts into practice through Sangh work that he started in 1925," the RSS said in a tribute tweeted early Sunday.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also paid tributes and paid tributes to Hedgewar on the occasion here.
Hedgewar, a physician, was born April 1, 1889, in Nagpur and started taking part in India's freedom struggle at a young age. He later founded the RSS in 1925 to promote the concept of united India, deeply rooted in indigenous ideology in his home town.
He died on June 21, 1940, following deterioration of health in later years of his life.
