Russia will fulfil all its obligations as the host of the 2018 FIFA World Cup to make it the "world's best".
"Russia has been preparing for the World Cup and all the obligations Russia has taken as the championship's organiser are being implemented and will be fulfilled on time," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday, reports Xinhua.
"We have no doubts that the 2018 World Cup in Russia will be written in history as one of the best championships," he added, noting that Russia has proved many times its capability to hold international events.
Preparations for the event require implementation of about 300 infrastructure projects in 11 host cities. Besides, 20 more cities were involved in visitors' accommodation service programme.
In late January, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said they had to cut its budget spending on preparations of the World Cup, citing financial restraints.
