Finally, the wait is over for Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar's Maharashtrian fans who were looking forward to his reading his autobiography in Marathi.

His eagerly-anticipated autobiography "Playing It My Way" in the first non-English language, Marathi, has gone for printing and will be released in the markets - both online and offline - from May 30, said Mehta Publishing House founder-chief Anil Mehta.

"Currently, the book is in the presses and we are printing 20,000 copies in the first run. Later, we will bring out more as per the market demands," Mehta told IANS here on Saturday.

The pre-publication booking price is Rs.540 and later it will be available for Rs.640 per copy, and the company is hoping to sell over 50,000 copies, which could set a new record in Marathi.

"We have requested Sachin Tendulkar to visit Pune and autograph a few copies of the book. It is the first non-English language translated version and also his mother-tongue, with matching content and images as the original English version," Mehta said, adding that the cricket maestro's response was awaited.

Besides Marathi, the book is being translated in eight major Indian languages including Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu, he said.

"Playing It My Way" was first released November 6, 2014, through the publishing firm Hatchette India and it immediately broke all hardback records for any adult book across fiction and non-fiction genres. A paperback edition is scheduled later this year, a top company official said.
