The Haryana government on Thursday appointed senior IPS officer B.S. Sandhu as the new Director General of Police, replacing incumbent K.P. Singh.
A few other senior officers were also transferred in the posting orders issued on Thursday.
Sandhu was chairman and managing director of the Haryana Police Housing Corporation till now.
K.P. Singh has been posted as Director General, Prisons against a vacant post.
The Haryana government, in an abrupt move in April last year, had removed the then DGP Yash Pal Singhal following the mishandling of the violent Jat agitation in Haryana in February last year.

Among other officers transferred, K. Selvaraj, Commandant General, Home Guard and Director, Civil Defence (Headquarters), Chandigarh has been posted as DGP, Railways and OSD Rules, Police Headquarters.
Rajvant Pal Singh has been posted as Commandant General, Home Guard and Director, Civil Defence.
P.R. Deo, awaiting posting upon return from central deputation, has been posted as Managing Director, Haryana Police Housing Corporation.
Desh Raj Singh, ADGP has been posted as ADGP, Sunaria Complex.
