Sao Paulo have signed former Bologna and Genoa defender Roger Carvalho on a six-month loan deal.
Carvalho was named in the club's squad for the Copa Sudamericana, South America's secondary continental club tournament, reports Xinhua.
"I'm very happy to have this opportunity. It's a unique chance and I hope to make the most of it," the 26-year-old told Sao Paulo's official website Tuesday.
Injury reduced Carvalho to just six matches for Bologna last season after his move from Italian Serie A rivals Genoa. The central defender's economic rights have been owned by Brazilian investment club Tombense since 2008.
