The Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute here has suspended three faculty members following allegations of sexual harassment by students, an official said on Monday.

"The institute's internal complaints committee for sexual harassment is probing the allegations of sexual harassment against three teachers and since it is a quasi-judicial matter, we can't comment further," said registrar Anindya Acharya.

He said some girl students complained about the three teachers.

Named after Indian film legend Satyajit Ray, the institute is a national centre of excellence which offers postgraduate programmes in cinematic studies.
