Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed continued to be in a critical condition on Thursday, a day after he was shifted to the ICU of the AIIMS, said hospital authorities.
"The Jammu and Kashmir CM continues to be in the ICU, requiring oxygen therapy. His vital parameters are stable. He is alert and taking diet," said Amit Gupta, spokesperson of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here.
Gupta said Sayeed's progress and treatment is being closely monitored by a team of experts comprising doctors from several departments.
The 79-year-old leader was moved to the ICU of the AIIMS on Wednesday after being flown to the premiere hospital on December 24 with complaints of severe fever and neck pain.
Mufti is a patient of acute diabetes and has been on a routine check-up every month at the institute.
